About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Security Manager to safeguard personnel, assets, and operations. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive travel advisories, conduct security analyses, provide training, and oversee staff safety across diverse and sometimes high‑risk environments. You will also lead crisis management efforts to ensure safe and compliant implementation of EIDU programs. Success in this position requires a proactive leader with deep field security expertise and strong collaborative ties with both international and national security stakeholders in Nigeria.
What you will do:
As a Security Manager, you will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of EIDU’s security framework to safeguard personnel, assets, and operations across Nigeria.
Security Risk Management & Strategy
Conduct regular security risk assessments of existing and potential EIDU states, contributing to prioritization of specific geographic areas for program rollout.
Monitor and analyze evolving threats—including terrorism, banditry, communal conflict, petty crime, and cyber risks—and provide timely advisories.
Liaise with government agencies, INGOs, and community leaders to strengthen local security networks.
Develop, update, and test Crisis Response Plans, ensuring staff are trained and prepared for emergencies.
Conduct security audits and simulations to test resilience and identify vulnerabilities.
Integrate intelligence platforms (e.g., INSO, NANGO) into daily risk monitoring and decision-making.
Operational Security Oversight
Coordinate staff movement, including route planning, travel security, and check‑in systems.
Establish operational guidelines tailored to specific geographies (travel timing, methods, comms, etc.)
Produce weekly and monthly security reports with actionable recommendations.
Ensure staff readiness with first aid kits, fire safety equipment, and emergency communication.
Incident Response & Crisis Management
Act as first responder during emergencies, coordinating evacuations and rapid response measures.
Lead investigations into security incidents, recommend corrective actions, and maintain accurate incident documentation.
Provide post‑incident debriefs and lessons learned to management for continuous improvement.
Capacity Building & Training
Deliver regular training and drills on lockdowns, evacuations, fire safety, first aid, and crisis protocols, personal safety, cyber security, and humanitarian negotiation practices.
Mentor field teams to embed security protocols into daily program delivery.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure security framework and processes comply with EIDU’s operational policies, donor requirements, and Nigerian regulatory standards.
Support internal audits and donor reviews with robust security documentation.
